AperiJazz

CremonaJazz made double with AperiJazz

IMG_1488_2This second edition of CremonaJazz is going to host another great chance to listen to

jazz music. Before each of the four main concerts, from April 16th to May 24th, there

will be four Italian jazz bands playing from 6.30 pm until 8.30 pm, in the restaurant-bar

inside the Museo del Violino, “Chiave di Bacco”. This way you will have a very good

time waiting for the night concert, listening to some beautiful music together with a nice

glass of wine and the delicacies the cook will have prepared for the occasion. Even if

you can not come to the night concert, in the Arvedi Auditorium, you are more than

welcome to join us for the happy hour: Aperijazz is an open and free event.

But there are some more CremonaJazz events not to be missed: the same day of the

concerts it will be possible to visit the Museo del Violino with very special condition.

The museum will be open until 7.30 pm and purchasing a ticket for the concert will give

you the chance to get a discounted ticket to visit the museum, with no extra charges for

the guided tour on schedule at 6 pm, same day of the concerts.

This “side festival”, AperiJazz, will start on April 16th, before Ravi Coltrane’s concert,

with an eclectic musician from Bologna, forever in love with jazz music, Jimmy Villotti,

with his quartet. Together with Mauro Slaviero (alto saxophone), Paolo Badini (double

bass) e Paolo Mozzoni (drums), Villotti will lead us though a lots of very good musical

ideas, coming from the lifelong experience playing with great musicians, from Lucio

Dalla to Paolo Conte, to quote a few. We will listen to a virtuoso performance, with jazz,

blues, a little funk and crossover music.

On April 28th, it will be “Silvia Dalla Noce Quartet” introducing us to Fresu and Caine’s

concert. The band, whose the singer from Cremona is the leader, is composed by

Roberto Soggetti (piano), Giulio Corini (double bass) e Valerio Abeni (drums). The

quartet is very close-knit and it can create original atmospheres adapting and

reinterpreting the pieces. This is also possible thanks to the undisputed talents of Silvia,

joining a very warm voice with musicality, improvisation skills and rhythm.

On May 8th, before Take 6’s concert, it will be the turn of “The Bridge Quartet”,

composed by Marco Zignani (baritone and alto saxophone), Stefano Scariot (guitar),

Marco Doldi (double bass) e Oberdan Galvani (drums). The group, from Cremona, will

play a repertoire based on the songwriters, form Cole Porter to Harry Warren, proposing

original arrangement and adding some jazz samba touch inspired by Stan Getz, Joao

Gilberto and Jobim.

The last event of AperiJazz 2016 will be on May 24th. At night we will be listening to

Galliano’s quartet but the aperitif will be all about the catchy sound of ” “Gendrickson

Mena Duo”. It will be a never-ending surprise, thanks to the multi-instrumentalism of

the two musician: Gendrickson Mena playing the piano and the trumpet, also at the same

time!, and Ezio Salfa using the bass and the acoustic guitar. The repertoire will touch

jazz-latin, funky, from the most famous standards to bossanova and including also

original songs.
