Jazz players from everywhere in the world

scofieldpress0021Jazz players from everywhere in the world. All together, ideally, on the global stage set up by Unesco that, since 2012, celebrates, every year on April 30th, the International Jazz Day, an international day dedicated to Jazz music. A universal recognition of this music’s communicative importance, a music which in its history and in its artistic evolutions had – we read it on the Unesco official’s site – “ the capacity for connecting people all over the world”.
For the 2015 edition the international Jazz Capital will be Paris, chosen to host the All – Star Global concert, that day’s top event, to whom will participate a group of exceptional artists. Among them Dianne Reeves – winner, on this year, of her fifth Grammy Award as the best female vocalist – who on May 13th will come to Cremona to conclude the first CremonaJazz festival.
A festival that, however, it’s also included in the Unesco International Jazz Day with three days of the highest level. In fact, at the Museo del Violino, this genre’s lovers (and not only them) could join this international event attending the shows of two real legends. In fact, on April 28th, at the “Giovanni Arvedi” concert hall Ron Carter performs with his double-bass; he’s a memorable double-bass player, member of the Miles Davis Quintet, known all over the world as model for his technical perfection and his interpretative ability which lead him to the collaboration with all the international stars of jazz music, in a career with more than 2500 albums. Then John Scofield’s guitar will connect Cremona with Paris and with the rest of the world. The veteran of the American jazz-rock music will perform on April 30th at the Museo del Violino, all together with the Pablo Held’s trio, the musical trio set up by the young German pianist Pablo Held. His visit to Cremona, however, won’t be just a performance for a pleasing audience. In fact, on April 29th, the great musician proposed himself for a seminar on jazz music and on the guitar, devoted to the students.
The seat will be, significantly, at the Liceo Musicale Ipiall “Antonio Stradivari” and the entry will be free for all those schools, in the city or on the territory, that will participate to the event patronized in collaboration with the Milestone School of Music in Piacenza, in order to create a synergy between the new CremonaJazz festival’s artistic organization, curated by Carmelo Tartamella’s ArchTop Jazz Guitar and by the already experienced PiacenzaJazz.
This is a unique occasion for the young musicians from Cremona (the meeting will be free for the students, but there will be a few non-free tickets for those who were interested); they could personally know the history and the tricks of this profession, from one of the most important and influential guitarists of the international music history who accompanied, with its unreachable technique, some legendary artists like Miles Davis, Bill Frisell, Carlos Santana, Tom Morello and many others. A class to go to, gaping, before attending his concert at the Auditorium, in that day in which the planet will rotate to the rhythm of the jazz music.
